Our Story

A people without a history is a people deprived of political power. World Wonderers began in response to the political (dis-)empowerment of indigenous communities, women, and girls in Borneo, Malaysia. World Wonderers has had a long and meaningful presence advocating for justice and inclusion in communities where women, youth, and indigenous minorities have struggled to realize their rights and are often subject to systemic violence and political exclusion. We are a team of out-of-the-box thinkers, academically trained, with hands-on experience, and a solid Malaysian and international network, committed to supporting both Malaysian and global communities in the reclamation of their history and political agency.

Our Mission

Developing creative solutions to empower minorities to build more sustainable and equitable societies by building the capacity of indigenous communities to mobilize against intolerance and exclusion, amplify the voices of marginalized populations, namely women  and girls, and foster stronger movements for equality.
